CW-Mode

Set the Kit into CW-Mode with the FMCW firmware:

  • CW-Mode does not do distance measurement, so you set the bandwidth of the sweep to 0 Hz, effectively setting the kit to CW-Mode.
  • Select a ramp time that covers your minimum frequency (for example, 100 Hz) in one sample window, for example a ramp time of 15 to 40 ms. You can do that by adjusting the number of samples and ADC clock rate.
  • We normally do spectral averaging to get a better noise performance (by summing up measurements during several ramps). Since your signal will not be correlated between ramps anymore, you need to deactivate that by setting the number of ramps to 1 and disable the FFT averaging (set slider to left most position).

Now you should see Doppler frequencies in the spectrum.
